Social media network testing YouTube-style dedicated video hub

It’s kind of like a cross between Instagram and YouTube all functioning within Facebook’s main app.

Facebook has been going hard on video lately and today it has announced plans to make sure users have more ways to watch tiny movies of their friends and people they follow.

The most intriguing of these experiments is a dedicated video tab that shows all the videos shared by pages and friends someone follows.

It’s kind of like a cross between Instagram and YouTube all functioning within Facebook’s main app.

This feature will be tested on a small group of users to see how they will respond to having virtually instant access to videos without having to sift through postings by family members and baby bump photos by friends.

Additionally, Facebook is also testing a bunch of video features, one of which is Suggested Videos, a YouTube-like way of bringing up videos that you might find interesting based on what you’re currently watching.

The company is also testing a way for people to watch while still having access to the newsfeed.
