According to media reports, this year’s Facebook F8 Developer Conference is scheduled to take place on April 12th and 13th at the Fort Mason Center in San Francisco.
Registration for tech giant's F8 conference now open
The F8 Developer Conference is Facebook’s annual conference for developers and entrepreneurs who build products and services around the social network.
Usually, F8 starts with a keynote from Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg, announcing what the company is working on.
This year, that keynote speech is expected to focus on Oculus Rift, which Facebook acquired in 2014, and Free Basics, the company’s free internet access app.
Last year, the F8 conference saw the opening of Facebook’s Messenger as an app platform, with users able to access added functionality such as ordering an Uber without having to leave the app.
Registration is open and tickets cost $595 each for successful applicants, but there are also limited need-based scholarships available to individuals and small companies.
For those unable to attend, you can livestream some sessions. The two-day conference is expected to feature new products and a glimpse into Facebook’s future.
