WhatsApp has the highest number of monthly active users

The desktop browser-based interface to the popular app-based messaging client WhatsApp, WhatsApp Web, is finally available for iPhone users.

The WhatsApp web version was launched earlier this year, and at launch, the service only supported WhatsApp on Android, Windows Phone, or BlackBerry. Also, Google's Chrome browser was the only desktop browser that the service supported at launch, though it later added support for Mozilla Firefox and Opera on desktop, while extending support to WhatsApp users on Nokia S40 and Nokia S60 devices. As of Wednesday, WhatsApp officially became available to iPhone users as well.

The web  version of the very popular messaging service now also works with Safari on the Mac, though some features like photo capturing and voice message recording won't be available.

To use WhatsApp Web, simply go to the WhatsApp Web website, scan the QR code that will be on the desktop screen via the WhatsApp app on your mobile. Be sure you are using the latest version of the app on your platform.

One important thing to know is that WhatsApp Web uses your phone's Internet connection to send and receive your messages, so your mobile needs to be connected to the Internet for the duration which you’re going to use the service on your PC, either via Wi-Fi or cellular data.
