Yes, BlackBerry is still trying. Rumors that the Canadian smartphone maker is turning to Android are gaining ground in the form of leaked images.
New 'Venice' slider Android smartphone leaked [PHOTO]
It seems like the Venice will have a screen that wraps around both the phone’s edges, like that on the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge.
An image uncovered by CrackBerry may have just given us our first real look at the BlackBerry "Venice" said to be the company's upcoming Android phone.
According to Mashable, it seems like the Venice will have a screen that wraps around both the phone’s edges, like that on the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge. Also the Venice is said to include a physical keyboard, which slides out from under the screen, toeing the classic BlackBerry line.
The photo leak comes days after models of the phone were leaked as well.
Aside from running Android and carrying a physical keyboard, the phone is expected to have a 5.4-inch Quad HD screen, an 18-megapixel camera, 3GB of RAM and a 1.8GHz Snapdragon processor.
Embracing Android wouldn't mean the company would stop supporting its own BlackBerry 10 platform, but it would represent a new era for the company, which had previously resisted building on other platforms.
