Online retailer promises biggest shopping experience in Nigeria

Having being a part of the event last year, Jumia has said that Nigerians should prepare to break the bank and be expectant, as they shop for gifts for their family, friends and colleagues.

The world's biggest shopping holiday, Black Friday, is steadily drawing near and is slated to take place on Friday, November 28, 2014.

Alongside other e-commerce websites across the globe, Nigeria's online marketplace, Jumia, has expressed its readiness to cater to the needs of their customers nationwide on the iconic day, promising them a shopping experience to remember.

The world wide shopping extravaganza has gained popularity over the years as a day of extensive buying, with millions of people travelling across the country to take advantage of massive deals that they may not have been able to afford on regular days.

Black Friday recorded a total of 307 million shoppers globally in 2013, making it the world's biggest shopping day of the year.

The company's representative said: "To Nigerians, who for many years have only read about 'the biggest shopping event', Black Friday may seem like madness, an event that usually saw the shopping appetite of people come to the fore, ushering in Christmas shopping and a day that people look forward to with so much expectation.

"Statistics for online retailers for Black Friday in the United States and Asia have come in their billions with most retailers seeing figures that have most times far exceeded what they had previously recorded in whole months."

So there, you have it! Will you be partaking in this year's Black Friday? What are your expectations and concerns?
