Beats by Dr. Dre (also known as just Beats) has announced new wireless products, expanding its portfolio to include a generation of wireless earphones called BeatsX along with a new generation of two of its bestselling products, the Powerbeats3 Wireless earphones and Beats Solo3 Wireless headphones.

The collection has some new internals too including Apple's W1 chip, Class 1 Bluetooth and features such as Fast Fuel Charge and of course, the great sound that has made Beats become so popular across the world.

"Beats has always been dedicated to delivering the best possible music listening experience,” said Beats president Luke Wood. “Now that almost everything we consume in media has a sound component, superior audio playback quality is key. With our new product, we are delivering great design, innovation and sound so that you can hear everything the way the content creators imagined.”

According to a press release from the company sent to Pulse, Beats' wireless headphone business grew 127% as a whole in 2016.

“Bluetooth continues to fuel growth in the stereo headphone market as consumers recognize the value and convenience of wireless listening,” said Ben Arnold, executive director, industry analyst for consumer technology at The NPD Group. “June was the first month in which Bluetooth headphone dollar sales overtook non-Bluetooth sales in the U.S., a strong indicator that wireless listening is poised to become the leading way consumers experience music on the go.”

All the devices on the new Beats lineup are compatible with iOS and Android devices. They will be available before the end of 2016, according to the Beats press statement.

The BeatsX earphones will cost £129, the Powerbeats3 will cost £169.95, and the Beats Solo3 Wireless will cost £249.95 (pre-orders start from September 7). All of these products will be available at Apple retail stores in the UK, the Apple website and from authorised resellers.

Beats by Dr. Dre (Beats) is an audio brand founded in 2006 by legendary hiphop producer Dr. Dre and Jimmy Iovine. Apple acquired the company in July  2014 for $3 billion.
