Reports say the release date for Apple’s upcoming iPhone 6s may have been inadvertently leaked by Vodafone this past week.
According to Mobile News, which claims to have gotten its hands on an internal Vodafone email, Apple’s next-gen iPhone is slated to be released on Friday, September 25, with pre-orders reportedly scheduled to open up on September 18.
However, given that it’s only early June, any story regarding a specific iPhone release date should of course be taken with a sensible grain of salt.
While a few rumors over the past few months have claimed that Apple is hoping to release new iPhone models sometime in August or even as early as July, the typically reliable Ming-Chi Kuo from KGISecurities issued a research note last month stating that we can expect new iPhones to hit stores shelves in September.
Sources further reveal that as an ‘S’ upgrade, the form factor on Apple’s next-gen iPhone will likely remain the same as what we saw with the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus. Still, some compelling new software and hardware features can be expected, including Force Touch functionality, 2GB of RAM, a more reliable Touch ID sensor, a 12 megapixel camera, and what should be a blazing fast A9 processor.
