Apple has launched a new Free on iTunes sections that allows users to download music and TV shows for free.

The new Free on iTunes section offers free TV shows from the likes of MTV, Fox, Animal Planet, SyFy and more, there is also free music from a number of artists including Machine Head, Purity Ring and more.
Not too long ago, the company stopped their free single of the week offering on iTunes, and no explanation was given as to why it was removed.

Apple has not made any sort of official announcement about this new section on iTunes, but we presume the company will be using this to replace their previous free single of the week promotion.
