The W Awards was held in Lagos as part of the agenda for the 2015 Access Conference.
In the last six years, HealthPlus has grown from being a neighbourhood pharmacy to a pharmacy chain with over 60 stores across Nigeria. Pulse Nigeria spoke to the health care provider about being honoured at The W Awards.
“I’m excited because I know there are many women in Nigeria doing phenomenal work”, George said.
“I’m especially excited because this is health care being recognized and we are not glamorous, we often get unnoticed because what we do is considered as charity, it’s assumed it’ll be there”.
The W Awards, which held in Lagos as part of the agenda for the Access Conference, recognized six women who have displayed exemplary aptness in their roles as business, career and family women at the W awards.
The Pharmacist dedicated her award to her mother Mrs Bisi Fajemirokoun.
“I would dedicate this to my mother for her many sacrifices . . . I would not be who I am today without her” she shared.
The theme of this year’s conference was "Leading in a Transformational World - The Imperative of Innovation".
George also shared the importance of innovation in Nigerian healthcare with Pulse.
“It is critical especially as we have masses to reach”.
