Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike and All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate, Dakuku Peterside

Peterside had said, during a recent meeting with APC Chairman, John Oyegun, that members of the party in Rivers had begun to feel like orphans after Wike’s election victory was upheld by the Supreme Court.

“Dakuku said they are now like orphans when they went to visit him (Oyegun). Dakuku, you are not an orphan. I am your father. I am here,” Wike said at a recent event in Port Harcourt, according to Daily Post.

“How can you have a father and you say you are an orphan. I am your father. Come, I will bless you. Come.

“The Archbishop has said that I’m not the father of just PDP. I am the father of everybody. So, Dakuku cannot be an orphan. Come and contribute your quota to the state,” he added.

Wike’s victory in the April 11, 2015, elections was upheld by the apex court on January 27, 2016.

Peterside, in his response to the governor’s victory, said that he would be willing to contribute to the state’s progress under Wike’s leadership.
