The Executive Governor of Awka Ibom State, Udom Emmanuel, yesterday, January 2, 2016, has said that his administration is inclined towards achieving the vision of wealth creation, employment generation and industrialisation.

Governor Udon Emmanuel made the statement in Uyo, Awka Ibom at a Solemn Assembly to welcome the people of Awka Ibom State as it is always done yearly, into the New Year. The Governor acknowledged the fact that only God can superintend over the affairs of the state, and can ensure effective implementation of the programmes lined up by his administration.
Quoting the Awka Ibom state Governor, “We are committed to creatively harness the resources of the state to achieve the vision of wealth creation, employment generation and industrialisation.
“That is why we have to convoke the solemn assembly to seek divine guidance and invite God to superintend over the affairs of the state for successful implementation of the programmes of the administration."
Furthermore, the Governor urged the people of Awka Ibom not to get fooled again, stating that they cannot go back to the days of servitude.
In his words, “Reject in totality every antics of the enemy, particularly those devising means of taking the state back to the days of servitude.
“Akwa Ibom people cannot afford to be fooled again.
He further condemned the blackmail and propaganda by the opposition, while calling upon them to refrain from such unconscionable acts, the Governor was deemed to have said that there was no vacancy at the Hill Top Mansion, the Awka Ibom Government House.
Meanwhile, the President of the Akwa Ibom chapter of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Bishop Cletus Bassey, commended the Akwa Ibom State government for sustaining the yearly dedication of Awka Ibom State to God through the solemn assembly.
Governor Udom Emmanuel used the medium to announce his administrations dedication to the continuance of free and compulsory education.
