Senate dares Buhari, reintroduces ‘rejected’ electoral amendment bill
President Buhari had rejected the bill seeking to alter the 2019 election timetable.

President Buhari had withheld assent to the bill seeking to amend the powers of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to determine the sequence of elections.
The National Assembly vowed to override President Buhari’s veto on the bill.
And it did.
The House of Representatives reintroduced the electoral bill last week.
At the Senate, Bauchi-South lawmaker, Senator Sulieman Nazif reintroduced the bill at today's plenary.
Plot against Buhari?
Lawmakers loyal to President Buhari had described the bill as a plotagainst Nigeria’s leader and the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
Some lawmakers had staged a walk-out of plenary to express the displeasure over the quick passage of the bill by their colleagues.
The Senate’s committee on privileges was mandated to investigate the allegation that the bill was targeted at the Buhari-led APC government.
