Senate President reportedly begs Obasanjo to reconcile him with Buhari, APC

Saraki had fallen out with the APC after he defied the party leadership to contest for the Senate Presidency and emerged victorious after garnering votes from Senator-members of the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP).

Senate President, Bukola Saraki, today, June 18, 2015, held a closed-door meeting with former President, Olusegun Obasanjo.

Saraki is said to have met with Obasanjo to urge the latter to broker a reconciliation between him, the All Progressives Congress (APC) and President Muhammadu Buhari, according to Premium Times.

Saraki had fallen out with the APC after he defied the party leadership to contest for the Senate Presidency and emerged victorious after garnering votes from Senator-members of the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP).

The Senate President reportedly told Obasanjo that there had been a “complete communication breakdown between him, the president and the party” despite their supposed acceptance of his victory.

Obasanjo is said to have told Saraki and his entourage that “you children of nowadays only run to elders when you have finished making the damage”.
