INEC suspends elections in 6 LGAs
Ikoiwak had earlier described allegations that INEC sent fake election materials to some local government areas as untrue.

Vanguard Newspaper reports that the Resident Electoral Commissioner for Rivers, Aneidi Ikoiwak, made this known to the public.
The affected local government areas are Bonny, Gokana, Abua/Odual, Andoni, Eleme and Tai.

Ikoiwak said that the unrest started after party agents attacked INEC officials for allegedly using fake election materials in their areas.
“All INEC materials used for the election are genuine,” he said.
Several irregularities have trailed the on-going Rivers legislative rerun and has attracted more attention to the state.
