Kamale, who represents the Madagali/Michika Federal Constituency, defected on the floor of the House on Tuesday, May 23.

His defection was officially announced via a letter read by Speaker, Yakubu Dogara.
According to Kamale he decided to leave the PDP because of the division in the party.

His defection comes less than a week after Plateau state rep, Edward Pwajok dumped the PDP for the same reason.
