Appeal Court upholds governor’s election victory

The decision was reached today, December 24, 2015, by a five-man panel of the Appeal Court in Abuja.

The Court of Appeal has upheld the victory of Delta State Governor, Ifeanyi Okowa in the April 11, 2015 elections in the state.

The court also dismissed the petition of Great Ogboru of the Labour Party (LP) after ruling that it lacked merit.

The decision was in support of the October 26 judgment of the state election petitions tribunal which also upheld Okowa’s victory.

Okowa contested on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
