Former minister has not defected to APC

A source also revealed that the former minister went to see Bola Tinubu in his home for reconciliation.

Sen. Musiliu Obanikoro.

According to Premium Times, a relation said that Obanikoro is still a bonafide member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

The source also revealed that the former minister went to see the APC National Leader, Bola Tinubu, in his home for reconciliation.

Obanikoro’s associate however said that there is still a possibility that the former minister might decamp.

The close political associate also told Premium Times that Obanikoro said he can never work with Ali Modu Sheriff.

He said “He may not want to deny it because maybe, eventually, he may go,” said the associate who did not want to be named because he was not authorised to speak on it.

“He has said that he can never work with (Ali Modu) Sheriff, I see that as just about time… many of them who say they will never work with Sheriff probably have their minds elsewhere. But they just have to be patient, Sheriff will only be there till June, when the party will hold its Convention, and it’s not possible that he (Sheriff) will take everything.”

Another family source said “We know for sure that he will not work with the Ali Modu Sheriff in the PDP.

“The situation is very dicey in the PDP right now, so if eventually he would have to move to the APC, then we can’t rule it out.”

If he decamps, Musiliu Obanikoro is one of the many members of the Peoples Deomcratic Party (PDP) who have defected to APC, after being indicted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

Do you think the APC should accept anyone who has a pending corruption case?
