The All Progressives Congress (APC) has condemned the recent anti-Igbo comments attributed to the Oba of Lagos, Rilwan Akiolu.

The APC also stated that the monarch was not speaking for the party adding that no APC candidate had ever indulged in hate speech.

The party made its stance known on Tuesday, April 7, via its Twitter handle.

“The Oba of Lagos does not speak for the APC. From Gen. Buhari down to Desmond Elliot, even true APC supporters, no hate speeches made so far,” the party wrote.

“Bad is bad, irrespective of where it comes from. We highly condemn the comments made by the highly respected Oba of Lagos in strong terms,” the APC added.

Oba Akiolu said on Sunday, April 5 that every Igbo person who fails to vote for APC governorship candidate, Akinwunmi Ambode would die in the Lagoon.
