Human rights lawyer, Femi Falana made the demand in a statement released on Tuesday, April 7, 2015.
Human rights lawyer, Femi Falana has urged the Oba of Lagos, Rilwan Akiolu to apologize over his recent threat against Igbos in the state.
Falana made the demand in a statement released on Tuesday, April 7, 2015.
The lawyer also stated that the Oba’s threat makes mockery of the political objective of national integration.
“It is illegal as it clearly offends Section 42 of the Constitution which has prohibited discrimination on grounds of ethnicity, religion, political opinion, creed or sex,” Falana said.
Falana also said that the Oba’s threat was in violation of the fundamental right to life of the Igbos in question.
Oba Akiolu had said during a meeting with Igbo leaders on Sunday, April 5, that anyone who did not vote for the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Akinwunmi Ambode would perish in the lagoon.
