The Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Attahiru Jega, has said that the era of politicians winning elections by hook or crook in Nigeria is over.

Jega stated this on Thursday, April 9, 2015 during a stakeholders meeting in Makurdi, the Benue State capital.

The INEC Chairman also said that he would ensure that the upcoming elections are free, fair, violence-free and a level playing field provided for all participants.

Nigeria’s Governorship and State House of Assembly elections are slated to hold across the country on Saturday, April 11, 2015.
