Jonathan nominates former governorship aspirant, 6 others as ministers

Jonathan is said to have forwarded the names of seven new ministers to the Senate for confirmation, Obanikoro included.

Former Lagos Governorship aspirant, Musiliu Obanikoro has been nominated for a ministerial position by President Goodluck Jonathan.

Other nominees include recent defector to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Kenneth Kobani and former Senator, Patrick Akwashiki.

Earlier reports had it that Obanikoro had been promised a ministerial position by Jonathan to convince him to back down from the Governorship race.

Obanikoro lost the state primary electionsto Jimi Agbaje on December 8, 2014, after which hecontested the resultsand even took the matter to court.

He later changed his tune after the alleged promise by Jonathan and pledged to work hand in hand with Agbaje to secure victory for the PDP in Lagos.
