The President-elect is said to have made the cost-saving proposal on Wednesday, April 15, 2015, during a meeting of the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Working Committee (NWC) in Abuja.
“No concrete decision has been reached on any of the issues yet. We are still meeting tomorrow,” an unnamed NWC source told Punch.
The meeting, was presided over by APC National Chairman, John Oyegun and was also held for the purpose of reviewing the recently concluded general elections.
The APC recorded a mass victory at the polls and is now expected to control the Senate and the House of Representatives.
