APC sweeps commercial capital in council polls

Election observers said that voters defied the heavy rain to file out and vote for their desired candidates.

The APC won all chairmanship seats in the 57 local councils in Lagos and annexed all councillorship positions as well.

It was a landslide for Nigeria's governing party in the nation's commercial capital.

Among the local government councils won are: Ojokoro, Eti Osa, Lagos Island, Badagry Central, Onigbongbo, Odiolowo/Ojuwoye, Ikorodu West, Ejigbo, Ikeja, Ikorodu, Epe, Lagos Island East, Badagry West, Surulere, Ikorodu Central, Ikoyi/Obalende, Agboyi-Ketu and Eredo.
