'President offered Tinubu Interim Government position,’ Ex-Governor claims

Tinubu had earlier alleged that President Goodluck Jonathan had offered him the Vice-Presidential position in the proposed ING if he went along with the plan but he turned it down.

The former Governor of Ekiti State, Kayode Fayemi has said that the National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu was indeed offered a position in a proposed Interim National Government (ING).

Tinubu had earlier alleged that President Goodluck Jonathan had offered him the Vice-Presidential position in the proposed ING if he went along with the plan but he turned it down.

The spokesperson for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) campaign organization, Femi Fani-Kayode however denied the allegations saying that Tinubu was suffering from dementia.

Nevertheless, Fayemi has said that Jonathan made the offer to Tinubu in a bid to divide the APC.

“President Jonathan is becoming desperate by the day and he would stop at nothing to return to government. You know what they did in Ekiti. So, there was nothing Tinubu said that was not verifiable,” Fayemi said on Saturday, March 14, in Ekiti.

“I have evidence that he (Tinubu) was invited to be part of the Interim Government as a way of dividing us as a prominent member of our party. There is absolutely nothing they cannot do to distract us because they could see that the Presidency is gradually slipping off their hands,” he added.

Fayemi also criticized current state governor, Ayo Fayose for ridiculing his own mother in a bid to make mockery of APC Presidential candidate, Muhammadu Buhari’s age.
