Amaechi, Umana tried to bribe me over Akwa Ibom election petition - Judge

One of the recently arrested Judges has said Rotimi Amaechi and Umana Umana tried bribing him to win at the election tribunal.

Okoro, who is one of the Justices arrested in the crackdown by the Department of State Services, DSS, said the Minister and the All Progressive Congress governorship candidate, Umana Umana, had tried bribing him at different occasions.

The Supreme Court Judge accused Amachi and Umana of trying to bribe him with promise of getting millions of Naira monthly if he sways victory in the way of the APC candidate at the election petition.

Okoro made the allegations in a letter addressed to the Chief Justice of Nigeria, where he narrated his ordeal in the hands of DSS on the night of Friday October 7, 2016 as well as Saturday October 8, 2016.

The Judge further denied ever receiving bribe from any individual stating that he had done his best to always eschew all forms of corrupt practices.
