He said thronging to the winning party is not in the interest of Nigeria.
The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), John Oyegun, has faulted the incessant defection of opposition party members, saying the move is not good for Nigeria’s political development.
Oyegun said this on Saturday, April 11, in Benin while speaking to journalists minutes after casting his vote.
“Many opposition party members have defected to APC just because they lost out, that is not good for political development.
“One would have advised that opposition members should stay where they are, and form a formidable opposition party.” said," he said.
Soon after General Muhammadu Buhari was declared winner of the March 28 Presidential election, executive and floor members of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) have defected en masse to the APC across the states of the federation; with some publicly tearing their PDP membership cards.
