Ibrahim was announced as the official PDP candidate by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Thursday, October 28.
The move led to controversy to the previous announcement of Eyitayo Jegede as the party’s candidate.
Ibrahim had been chosen as the candidate of the Ali Modu Sheriff faction of the PDP while Jegede was chosen to represent the Ahmed Makarfi faction.

The governorship elections will hold on November 26.
