Lagos State Governorship aspirant wins PDP primaries

Agbaje secured 434 votes to defeat major opponent and two-time aspirant, Musiliu Obanikoro who garnered 346 votes.

The results are in and Jimi Agbaje has been declared the winner of the Lagos state governorship primaries of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Agbaje secured 434 votes to defeat major opponent and two-time aspirant, Musiliu Obanikoro who garnered 346 votes.

In announcing the winner, Chairman of the governorship electoral committee, Saidu Umar Kumo said:

“I hereby declare Mr Jimi Agbaje as the candidate of the PDP for the 2015 governorship elections.”

The elections took place in the Oregun area of the state and Obanikoro was said to have stormed out of the building when he saw that the results were not in his favour.

Agbaje, who only recently defected to the PDP, will represent the party at the 2015 governorship elections in Lagos.

Other aspirants include Tokunbo Kamson who got 46 votes, Deji Doherty who got 21 votes and Babatunde Gbadamosi also got 21 votes.
