INEC set for election in Zamfara amidst anxiety over APC participation
Despite expression of readiness by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to conduct elections in Zamfara, there still exists palpable anxiety in the state over participation of the All Progressive Congress (APC).

NAN also reports that the state governor, Alhaji Abdulaziz Yari, who arrived the state capital, Gusau earlier on Friday, went straight into a closed door meeting with selected stakeholders at the Government House.
There has been no statement yet as to weather INEC would allow APC candidates to participate in Saturdays election.
A senior civil servant, who spoke to NAN on condition of anonymity, pointed out that: the political class in Zamfara are all to blame for causing the crisis in the APC.
We are all agitated and cannot confidently tell you what the future holds for the state following the current situation.
In the meantime, the state office of INEC has continued with preparations for Saturdays Presidential and National Assembly elections.
The Resident Electoral Commissioner, Dr Asmau Maikudi was at the Central Bank (CBN) office in Gusau along with party representatives to inspect and commence the movement of sensitive materials to the commissions state office for distribution to various Local Government Areas.
Maikudi told NAN that the preparations were going smoothly and all non sensitive materials had already arrived their destinations.
