The allegation was made by Commissioner for Information and Communication, Dr Austin Tam-George via a statement.
Tam-George also denied that the state government was involved in the cult-related violence that had led to the deaths of some persons in the state.
“It is a crude plan to militarize the state and use the security forces to steal the results of the forthcoming re-run elections," the commissioner said.
“The attempt by the APC to appropriate every dead person in Rivers State as their member might mean that the APC is in fact the sponsor of these satanic cult clashes, all in an attempt to destabilize the Wike administration,” he added.
Tam-George made the comments in response to a statement made by APC chieftain, Segun Oni, that Governor Nyesom Wike is responsible for the recent upsurge of violence in the state.
Rivers APC governorship candidate, Dakuku Peterside had recently also accused Wike of causing the violence by arming cult groups in the state.
