A rally to demand the impeachment of Osun State Governor, Rauf Aregbesola is set to hold today, July 7, 2015.

The proposed gathering was organized by the Civil Societies’ Coalition for Emancipation of Osun State (CSCEO).

CSCEO Chairman, Adeniyi Sulaiman Alimi said at a press briefing in Osogbo on Monday, July 6 that over 20 civil and faith based societies are expected to participate in the rally.

They include: The Voices, KIMPACT, Centre for Human Rights and Social Justice, Grassroot Democratic Network, Christian Initiative for Nation Building, Christian Leadership Mobilisation and Better Future Initiative.

Others are Nigerian Union of Pensioners (NUP), Justice, Development and Peace Commission Movement (JDPCM), Positive Movement, Good Governance Support Group, Democratic Socialist Movement and Conference of National Political Parties (CNPP).

Aregbesola has faced criticism in recent times over his inability to pay state workers’ salaries for the past seven months.

The governor however approved the payment of workers’ November and December 2014 salaries in June.
