Ex-Attorney General, Eyitayo Jegede is PDP governorship candidate
Jegede was, today, August 22, 2016, declared the winner of the PDP governorship primaries which held in Akure, the state capital.

He won 760 votes to defeat the Deputy Governorship Candidate of the PDP in the 2012 governorship election, Saka Lawal, who polled 22 votes.
Jegede served as AG from 2009 till July 22, 2016 when he resigned in order to pursue his governorship ambition. The governorship elections will hold on November 26.
