A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress in Nasarawa State, Ibrahim Azara, has called on President-elect, Muhammadu Buhari and Governor Tanko Al-Makura to reduce the cost of governance in the country.

Azara, who is a legal practitioner, told NAN on Wednesday, May 13 in Lafia that the call is imperative in order to fight poverty, unemployment and other social vices.

He advised Buhari to only appoint leaders of proven integrity in to his cabinet.

Azara said such appointments will promote accountability and transparency in the country.

“I want to advise the President elect, retired Maj.-Gen. Muhammadu Buhari and Al-Makura to reduce drastically the cost of governance and fight poverty and unemployment.

“I believed that Buhari, as we know him, is a man of proven integrity and unquestionable character, and it is our belief and hope that he will listen to our advice."

Azara called on both the incoming administration at the federal and state levels to give adequate priority to projects that have direct impacts on the lives of the people.

He called on the elected representatives to justify the confidence reposed on them by the electorate by initiating people- oriented projects.

The APC chieftain called on Nigerians to continue to pray for the success of the incoming administration.
