The motion of Ibrahim Gama, a.k.a Lugard, arguing that chief whip is disloyal to the incumbent Governor, Abdullahi Ganduje, led to Mamuda's impeachment.
In a unanimous decision, the House adopted the motion and immediately removed Mamuda, who represents Madobi constituency.
The House thereafter named Labaran Madari, a member representing Warawa constituency, as the new chief whip.
According to the House Committee on Information, Salisu Ibrahim, who spoke to Premium Times, Mamuda's removal is in conformity with the law.
He said the APC constitution stipulates that a sitting governor is the leader of the party in the state, except where opposition party is in government.
Pulse recalls that on Tuesday, March 15, 36 members of the house, out of 40, pledged allegiance to Governor Ganduje.
The action is believed to have deepened the differences between the incumbent leader and his predecessor, Kwankwaso.
