570 PDP members expected to join APC

The defectors, 70 chieftains and 500 other members, will formally announce their move to the APC at a rally on Saturday, August 15, 2015, and will be received by Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo.

 

570 members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Bayelsa State are expected to leave the party for the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

The defectors, 70 chieftains and 500 other members, will formally announce their move to the APC at a rally on Saturday, August 15, 2015, and will be received by Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo.

This was disclosed to journalists on Saturday, August 8, by Chief Alex Ekiotenne, the former Honorary Adviser to Governor Seriake Dickson.

Some of the defecting PDP chieftains are: former Managing Director, Niger Delta Development Commission and ex-Special Adviser to President Umaru Yar’Adua, Chief Ndutimi Alaibe, Senator Heineken Lokpobiri, former Acting Governors Nestor Binabo and Werinipre Seibarugu.

Also expected at the defection rally are APC National Chairman, John Odigie-Oyegun and five governors among others.
