The Governor of Bauchi State, Isa Yuguda, has sacked about 2,000 political aides in the state.

This was disclosed via a statement released by the Permanent Secretary, Political Affairs at the Government House, Hashimu Yakubu, on behalf of the Secretary to the State Government.

The affected aides, consisting of Special Advisers, Senior Special Assistants and Personal Assistants, are expected to vacate their offices with immediate effect.
“I don’t know how many of them were sacked but they can be more than 2,000 because shortly before the elections, the governor was said to have appointed 70 new aides,” a top government official said
The sacked officials are expected to return all government property in their possession.
Yuguda will vacate office on Friday, May 29, 2015 when governor-elect, Mohammed Abubakar is sworn in.
