PDP dares South-West Chieftains, zones chairmanship position to North-East

This is coming days after PDP Chieftains from the South-West threatened mass defection if the position is not zoned to their region.

The position was assigned on Thursday, April 28, at the party's 70th National Executive Council meeting held at the PDP national secretariat in Abuja.

This is coming days after PDP Chieftains from the South-West threatened mass defection if the position is not zoned to their region.

The implication of the party's decision is that, Ali-Modu Sheriff, who is serving an interim tenure, can now contest for a full term at the party’s national convention in May 2014.
