Igbo chieftains beg president to seek re-election

Southeast APC leaders are piling pressure on Buhari to seek re-election in 2019.

The APC leaders made their demand clear when they visited the president at the Villa on Monday, January 22.

ChannelsTV reports that the president had earlier met with the National Economic Summit (NES) group before the meeting with the Southeast leaders.

Leading the delegation was the Minister of Science and Technology, Ogbonnaya Onu, who told journalists afterwards that the Southeast geopolitical zone is happy with the president's first term performance and would want him to seek another.

'Pressure'

A host of State governors led by Kaduna's Nasir El-Rufai, to seek re-election as well.

Buhari is yet to say if he'd seek re-election; he's yet to dismiss the idea as well. If anything, Buhari has left that he'd be seeking another term once his first elapses.
