The Edo APC is accusing the state PDP of using the rice for the governorship campaign of one of its aspirants, Vanguard reports.
Some members of the PDP in the state, led by Okharedia Ihimekpen, also reportedly confirmed the conversion of the rice.
The PDP members, who were denied their share of the rice, took a sample to APC State Publicity Secretary, Godwin Erhahon to lodge their complaint.
“You can see that originally, what was written on the sack was Feed Nigeria Campaign 2015. But the aspirant super-imposed his campaign sticker on it,” Erhahon said while showing the rice to journalists.
“Can somebody who is running for governorship write ‘Feed Nigeria Campaign’ in the rice he wants to share to his supporters? No. Rather, it should have been feed Edo State,” he added.
The APC also said that it plans to report the matter to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and the Presidency for investigation.
