‘Voters have confidence in my ability to lead,’ Obaseki says [VIDEO]

Obaseki was on Thursday, September 29, declared winner of the election by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

The governor-elect, who represented the All Progressives Congress (APC), won 319,483 votes to beat Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Osagie Ize-Iyamu who won 253, 173 votes.

“This is a historic victory for all Edo citizens and our great party, the All Progressives Congress (APC),” Obaseki said after winning the polls.

“It underscores clearly, your preference for continuity. More importantly, by your votes, you have clearly affirmed your faith in my ability to lead our state forward,” he added.

Meanwhile, Obaseki, has said that his initial focus upon assuming office would be the creation of jobs for unemployed youths.

He will expectedly take over from incumbent, Adams Oshiomhole in November.
