‘I joined politics to serve God,’ Senate President says

Mark also attributed his success to constant prayer and urged his supporters to continue to pray for him.

Incumbent Senate President, David Mark

Senate President, David Mark has said that he joined politics to serve God and humanity.

The Senate President made the comments on Wednesday, June 3, 2015, during a thanksgiving service organised in his honour by the Christian Legislators Fellowship International.

“I joined politics to serve not only humanity but to serve God; I chose to be a team player in order to carry the senators along and I call each of the senators my boss,” Mark said.

“People of God, I cherish your prayers so much; it is not yet over until it is over by God so continue to pray for me,” he added.

Mark is set to vacate his position due to his party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), losing majority status to the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the recently held general elections.
