After months of playing hide and seek with Nigerians, President Muhammadu Buhari has officially announced his intention to seek re-election in the 2019 presidential election.

The president announced his decision to the National Executive Committee of the All Progressives Congress (APC) on Monday, April 9, 2018.

While there had been indications that the president would seek a second term in office, it has never been officially acknowledged until now.

After the president's announcement, Nigerians have taken to social media to react to the news and it's exactly as you would imagine.

While many can't wrap their heads around why the president wants to return for another four years in spite of his alleged failures, the other side of the aisle is standing behind the president.
