We will resist attempts to impeach President – APC Governors say

There were reports that the lawmakers were planning to impeach the President, as a result of the face-off between the legislators and the Executive.

President Buhari

The Senators alleged that the Executive arm was dabbling into the affairs of the Upper Chambers.

This is following the charges of forgery slammed on the Senate President. Bukola Saraki and his deputy, Ike Ekweremadu by the Federal Government.

Speaking further on the purported impeachment plot, the Governors under the aegis of Progressives Governors Forum on Saturday, July 16, 2016, said the attempt will be resisted like Turkey coup revolt.

They also added that Buhari has the power of the people behind him.

The APC Governors said this in Edo state, during the presentation ceremony of the party’s governorship candidate in the state, Godwin Obaseki.

The Senate has however denied moving for Mr. President’s impeachment.
