President Muhammadu Buhari meets with Nigeria's 36 governors

Nigeria’s 36 state governors have spoken out on the urgent need for Nigeria’s economy to be diversified.

The governors, under the umbrella of the Nigeria Governors Forum (NGF), made the comment on Monday, November 16, 2015, during a two-day Internally Generated Revenue workshop in Abuja, Vanguard reports.

“Economic diversification is vital to ensuring the long-term economic growth we seek,” NGF Chairman and Zamfara State Governor, Abdul’aziz Yari said.

“We must ensure that we are competitive in the way we diversify our economy, and ensure that the private sector plays a stronger role going forward.
