‘President signed 100 days promise document,’ PDP chieftain says [VIDEO]

Presidential aide, Garba Shehu, on Tuesday, September 1, 2015, disowned the document, titled “One Hundred Things Buhari Will Do in 100 Days”, saying it did not emanate from the president’s official campaign media office.

President Muhammadu Buhari .

A member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), George Eke has said that the controversial document containing the supposed ‘100 days promises’ of President Muhammadu Buhari was signed by the president.

Presidential aide, Garba Shehu, on Tuesday, September 1, 2015, disowned the document, titled “One Hundred Things Buhari Will Do in 100 Days”, saying it did not emanate from the president’s official campaign media office.

However, Eke said that the document emanated from the All Progressives Congress (APC) and appeared ‘quite believable.’

He made the comments while speaking on Channels Television’s Sunrise Daily on Tuesday.

Eke said:

“Let’s stop making the document controversial because the document is all over the place and the document belongs to the APC. Come to think of it, the document was signed by President Buhari and he related his experience in his campaign tours.”

“There are two documents, one talks about his covenant with the Nigerian people while the other talks about 100 things President Buhari will do in 100 days.”

“He itemized what he plans to achieve in all sectors of the economy and governance and they looked quite believable. Some people are holding them to some promises they made at the rallies about feeding all Nigerian children per day and having to bring dollar to some unrealistic levels, but I don’t hold that against them.”

“The only thing we can say this government has engaged itself in, is fighting corruption, and the way they are going about it, is as though, they are part of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) department. We expect EFCC to do their work while President Buhari does some ground breaking ceremonies.”

The APC’s National Publicity Secretary, Lai Mohammed had earlier also disowned the document saying Buhari never promised to achieve anything within 100 days.

He also said that the document in question did not originate from the APC.
