‘Not all of us are noisemakers,’ Ex-minister replies President

Former Minister of Communication Technology, Omobola Johnson made the statement in response to Buhari’s comment that ministers are noisemakers.

President Muhammadu Buhari

Former Minister of Communication Technology, Omobola Johnson, has accused President Muhammadu Buhari of being unfair to ministers who were truly dedicated to their jobs.

Johnson made the statement in response to Buhari’s comment that ministers are noisemakers.

“President Buhari is being unfair to Ministers who work hard and don’t make noise. The civil service is broken and it needs to be fixed,” Johnson said via Twitter on September 16, 2015.

Buhari had compared the ministers to politicians who make a lot of noise saying that the real work of administration is done by technocrats.

“The ministers are there, I think, to make a lot of noise; for the politicians to make a lot of noise. But the work is being done by the technocrats,” Buhari said during an interview with France 24.

Johnson served as minister under the regime of former president, Goodluck Jonathan.

Meanwhile, Buhari has said that he will abide by his promise to appoint ministers in September despite the fact that time is flying fast.
