Former Rivers State Governor, Rotimi Amaechi was also due to be interviewed today but his screening was postponed till tomorrow, October 15 by the Senate.
Amaechi couldn’t be screened due to the inability of the Senate Committee on Ethics, Privileges and Public Petitions to submit its report on the petition against him.
The former governor’s nomination was challenged by three Senators from his state who cited the allegations of corruption levelled against him.
The committee however decided that the charges couldn’t serve as grounds to prevent Amaechi’s confirmation as minister as the case was still pending in court.
