Lagos Assembly Speaker:'I'll not anoint anyone'

Tinubu said he has not picked any candidate for the next Lagos State House of Assembly speaker seat.

The National leader of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Asiwaju Ahmed Tinubu has said that he has not picked any candidate for the next Lagos State House of Assembly speaker seat.

Speaking at his Bourdillon residence in Lagos while receiving two APC Chieftains - Chief Tajudeen OluyoleOlusi and Alhaji Mutiu Are, who visited him on Friday, May 22, Tinubu said he will leave the decision to the Assembly members.

“I have not anointed any candidate and I will not anoint any. Let the Assembly members choose whoever they believe can lead them aright,” Tinubu was quoted to have told his guests.

However, it was gathered that three aspirants for the Lagos Speakership position had stepped down at a meeting that lasted late into the night of Thursday, May 21.
