Court stops AIT from airing controversial documentary against APC leader

The order was made by Justice Akinkugbe of the Ikeja High Court pending the determination of a Motion on Notice.

A court in Lagos State has stopped Africa Independent Television (AIT) from airing a controversial documentary against the National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu.

The order was made by Justice Akinkugbe of the Ikeja High Court pending the determination of a Motion on Notice.

Tinubu had demanded damages of N20 billion from AIT after alleging that the documentary, titled "The Lion of Bourdillon” was defamatory.

AIT however made a counter-demand of N100 billion claiming that it was well within its rights to air the documentary.
