Senate insults APC chieftain, says he is frustrated

Abdullahi said the APC chieftain is still sulking because his attempt to impose his candidates on the Senate failed.

APC chieftain, Bisi Akande

The Senate, in its response to a comment attributed to Chief Bisi Akande, the former interim National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), said the APC chieftain is frustrated.

Chief Akande reportedly said the fact that the 2016 budget got missing, shows that the Senators are not disciplined.

Speaking on behalf of the Senate, its spokesman, Senator Aliyu Sabi Abdullahi said “We have said it several times that the budget was not missing. That two versions of the details of the budget exist and this is no longer in doubt as the Presidency has equally admitted this.

“We expect a man of Akande’s calibre to cross-check his facts and take us up on our words. That he decided to ignore the facts and make comments on speculations is regrettable. He is a man who had served in government. He is a leader of the party with the majority in the Senate and he has several channels of cross-checking facts as against speculations.”

He also said Akande was making speculations, without properly checking the facts.

Chief Bisi Akande was Governor of Osun State from 1999-2003, under Alliance for Democracy (AD), and the first interim Chairman of the All Progressives Congress.
